MENA Rosa conducted a qualitative community-led research aiming to document the barriers facing WLHIV to access dignified HIV Vertical Transmission preventive services in Egypt and Morocco. We conducted five Focus Group Discussions in each country engaging a total of 136 WLHIV.

In February 2024, MENANPUD (a community-led regional network for People Who Use Drugs in the Middle East and North Africa) and MENA Rosa conducted a preliminary regional consultation for members from MENANPUD and MENA Rosa networks. It aimed to identify advocacy initiatives for women living with HIV and women who use drugs in order to allow them to share experiences, and identify common grounds for which they will prioritize advocacy interventions.

Under the Global Fund multi-country grant, Nadoum Program, MENA Rosa conducted roundtable discussions in Jordan, Egypt and Morocco aiming to enhance emergency health care and HIV services for women living with HIV.

Learn MENA Project, ongoing since 2018, is the first project to explore and address the linkages between violence against women and HIV in the MENA region led by and for women living with and affected by HIV. The project is a collaborative initiative implemented in seven countries: Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and Sudan.

In 2021, under the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria (GFATM) grant “HIV: Sustainability of Services for Key Population in MENA region” Nadoum Programme: MENA Rosa drafted a treatment literacy informative toolkit in English, Arabic and French aiming to expand the quality care, treatment, support and prevention services to reach women living with HIV.

MENA Rosa focused on enhancing treatment literacy among 160 women living with HIV in the MENA region, in particular women in rural and remote areas as well as Sudanese refugee women living with HIV.
As part of this effort, five two-day workshops were held in Egypt: Alexandria, Cairo, Fayoum, Tanta, and Zagazig; and three in Morocco: Guelmim, Tiznit, and Taroudant.

As part of MENA Rosa’s commitment to up-scale access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and mental health services for women in their diversity (WiTD), a series of capacity-building workshops and focus group discussions were conducted across five countries – Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Tunisia. A total of 147 WiTD engaged, representing diverse backgrounds.

In collaboration with El Hayet Association, MENA Rosa conducted a mapping of laws and procedures affecting women in Algeria, with a particular focus on women living with HIV. Available in Arabic and French, the mapping provides accessible information on rights and legal procedures.
